Santiago is an expert lawyer in Intellectual and Industrial Property, and Competition Law and is head of the Firm’s Enforcement Department. He works on the national and international market, forms part of the USA Desk and works closely with the Firm’s offices in Portugal and Qatar. He has been one of Spain’s top intellectual-property lawyers for more than 20 years and enjoys international renown. He was head of an area in the legal department of the Spanish Society of Authors and Publishers and managed intellectual and industrial property and new technology departments at the firms of Gómez-Acebo & Pombo, Squire, Sanders & Dempsey and Albiñana & Suarez de Lezo, prior to 2003 when he founded Santiago Mediano Abogados. Teacher and contributor on courses and conferences and Master’s programmes on Intellectual Property at the Madrid universities Universidad Complutense, Universidad Autónoma and Universidad Carlos III and the World Intellectual Property Organisation. He is a regular speaker for professional associations and bodies.
Law degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Independent research experience in Civil Law at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Master ‘s degree in Office Management and Administration, from the Spanish Higher Institute of Law and Economics (ISDE).
